Sovel Leadership

Gina Sladek is a CPA who specializes in building scalable financial infrastructures for growing organizations. Her career began at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, where she spent nearly a decade advising public and private companies on audits, internal controls, and technical accounting matters. Gina has served as both a Controller and CFO, designing and implementing the foundational systems and controls that support rapid growth. She built the financial frameworks that allowed the business to scale effectively, while managing multi-entity reporting and leading strategic planning—all with a practical, hands-on approach that balances precision and flexibility.

Today, Gina manages both the day-to-day financial operations and the overall financial health of growing companies. She creates the infrastructure and processes that allow founders and executives to step back from daily operations and focus on long-term planning and growth. Through Sovel Group, she provides fractional CFO and controller guidance to startups and mid-sized companies, helping them optimize cash flow and make informed decisions.

Gina and her husband live in Bennington, Nebraska, with their 3 children. They are active in their community and enjoy family travel, outdoor activities, and attending sporting events.

Andrea Shultz is a Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer at Sovel Group, where she provides fractional CFO and family office advisory services through Sovel Financial Services to founders and closely held businesses navigating periods of growth, transition, and complexity. With more than 16 years of experience in financial leadership, Andrea brings a disciplined, data-driven approach to strategic planning, governance, and capital decision-making.

Throughout her career, Andrea has supported middle-market companies and high-net-worth families across healthcare, professional services, and private investment environments. Her experience includes cash flow optimization, financial forecasting, incentive and equity program design, M&A advisory, and investment modeling. She is known for building efficient finance organizations, leveraging automation, and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable strategy.

At Sovel Group and Sovel Financial Services, Andrea is passionate about using technology to streamline financial and accounting workflows, reduce friction, and increase the reliability of reporting. At the same time, she is adamant that the human touch remains essential—ensuring judgment, context, and trusted relationships remain at the center of every financial decision. This balanced approach allows her to pair efficient systems with thoughtful leadership in service of long-term clarity and sustainable growth.

Andrea lives in Nebraska with her husband and daughter.

Scott Wehner is a systems architect and the founder of Sovel Group, an Austin-based firm providing sophisticated financial infrastructure for high-net-worth families and founders. In 2009, he co-founded Fusion Medical Staffing, serving as COO and engineering the operational and financial frameworks that scaled the organization into a national industry leader. Following a successful exit in 2018, Scott founded Sovel Group to bridge the gap between traditional back-office support and predictive financial intelligence.

Today, Scott applies his “in-the-trenches” operational history to solve the complexities of private capital. By integrating practitioner-led rigor with custom AI-driven analysis and deep investment modeling, he transforms raw financial data into a forward-looking roadmap. His focus is on creating the quiet infrastructure and “well-oiled machines” that allow visionaries to move from the role of operator to a state of total financial agency.

Scott and his wife, Jennifer, are active in a variety of philanthropic and community pursuits. Dedicated to the idea that capital is a catalyst for a life well-lived, they focus their efforts on initiatives that foster long-term stability and growth within the Austin community.

Scott, Jennifer, and their four children live in Austin, TX.
